The itchy feeling caused by a mosquito bite is too much to bear especially for kids. And more often than not, we receive multiple bites from those blood sucking insects. Scratching it off would only make it swell more. In times like these, the best thing to do is to relive yourself from the itchy sensation caused by the bite. Here are some mosquito bite relief tips.
The easiest things to find are household items. You can rub a bar of soap onto the infected area. For best result, apply a small amount of water first before rubbing it gently with a mild soap. You can also try to apply alcohol on the infected area or use hot water (with a tolerable temperature) for a hot compress. You can even use an ice pack for quick relief. Alternatively, you can also try other items found at home like nail polish, toothpaste, mouthwash, vinegar (which can be directly applied to the skin), honey and even underarm deodorant. You can also try baking soda and salt with water. Of course there are commercial products that are specifically designed to relieve you from itch. These include after bite creams and other medicated creams. Fruit applications can also be used. Lemon and limejuices are also believed to relieve the itch and swelling as well as banana peel (do this by rubbing the inside of peel on the affected area) and lemon and lime slices.
Of course, these are just home remedies and they may take some time to take effect. Do this two to three times and the effect will surely be felt. There are times when large swelling occurs or if the person bitten has a strong reaction to the bite (which can categorized as allergy), then a more complex Mosquito bite relief is need.
